In a show where girls tell their stories, the production design should reflect their world, their sense of fun and of challenge, their intelligence, their emotions and their words.

We wanted the design of the show to have the feel of a well-worn-in JanSport back pack with a lifetime of doodles, patches and pins. We wanted it to feel personal. And we wanted the girls on stage to own it.

But we also wanted it to be a backdrop that made the talented girls on stage stand out because the energy they brought to Eve Ensler’s play in this world premiere at Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Center blew us out of our seats.
