Dean named to 2026 Raindance Discovery List
Drake’s creative director and filmmaker Dean Temple was named to the 2026 Raindance Film Festival’s Discovery List for his pilot screenplay Breathable Air. The hour-long political and workplace satire placed among the final three scripts for TV drama out of 1,700 submissions. Dean attended both the pitch competition and the festival in London in June.
Also in London was Dean’s stage manager from an October reading of his full length satire Apocollapse! Phoebe Dettmann. Phoebe was attending the international premiere of her sister Emma Leonard’s zom com Zombucha. Dean felt privileged to join them, he’s sure his picture is there somewhere. The venue was blessedly close to the Red Lion pub, which has pulled pints of ale since 1788 and makes for a great space to talk over your next projects.
Dean, of course, also makes films for us, including original documentary and educational series for the FDR Presidential Library, which have amassed millions of views through their social media channels. His latest, Letters from the People, can now be seen as part of the permanent museum exhibit (and nowhere else so plan your visit to Hyde Park!)
Additionally, Dean directs mission-driven short documentaries for nonprofit. These films amplify communications while helping raising awareness and funding. Clients have included Family Services, V-Day, and the Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
