Happy Birthday V!

Today, 25 May, is V’s (formerly Eve Ensler) 70th birthday!
When we first met V in 2004, we experienced a combination of art and activism that led us to revise how we see the world and our work. V, and the the dynamic, caring people who power her nonprofit V-Day, do their important work on a global scale in ways that change people’s lives for the better and always with creativity at its core.
They do what we want to do. Lucky for us, we’ve been able to do that with them for two decades now.
It started in 2004 with projection design for a vote-centered production of the Vagina Monologues at the Apollo Theater (Vaginas Vote, Chicks Rock), and we’ve followed them to Lincoln Center, the New Orleans Superdome, the Hammerstein Ballroom, Carnegie Hall, the 92nd St Y, Ted Long Beach, and many other projects and initiatives. We were younger then. We don’t feel any older now. Judging from V’s schedule and continued output, neither does she.
Happy birthday V! Thank you for your vision, your energy, your kindness, and your enthusiasm that infects us and pushes us to do new work we hadn’t imagined.
We include V’s birthday message below: GIVE TO THE WORLD THE THING THAT YOU WANT THE MOST.

In addition to celebrating V’s birthday, we are celebrating V-Day’s anniversary! Visit V25!
